词源记忆法
美国男子篮球职业联赛NBA球队中有一支球队叫做Washington Wizards，我们大陆翻译为“华盛顿奇才队”。而英语单词wizard在现代英语中一般用来表示男巫、巫师，所以很多人觉得这个翻译准备不够准确，还不如台湾翻译为“华盛顿巫师队”。其实，大陆的翻译并无问题，因为wizard一词的本意就是“奇才、有智慧的人”。它由wise（智慧）+ard（表示人的后缀）构成，表示哲人、贤人、有杰出才能的人。直到16世纪才产生了“巫师”的含义，并一直延续至今。大陆把Wizards翻译为“奇才队”其实比翻译为“巫师队”更加贴切，因为该队名所要表达的是这些队员们技艺超群，而不是拥有巫术。
